The Montessori School of San Diego was established in 1975 and currently enrolls approximately 80 children ages 3 to 9. The school has four classrooms: three for primary students ages 3-6 and one for elementary students ages 6-9. In addition to the traditional Montessori materials and approach by certified Montessori teachers, we feature additional classes in dance, art and physical education. The elementary children can also take advantage of computer instruction and Spanish language classes.

  • Primary Classrooms

Montessori School of San Diego offers three primary classrooms for children ages 3-6. The classrooms have Montessori materials designed to fit individual children's needs to create meaningful learning experiences that maximize each child's ability. Content learning includes social interaction, practical life, sensorial areas, language, math, botany, zoology, history, geography, music, and art. These layered strands of curriculum build progressively as a student advances through the Montessori educational levels.

  • Elementary Classroom

Montessori School of San Diego offers an elementary classrooms for children ages 6-9. Elementary children can be characterized by their reasoning minds, their ability to abstract and imagine, and their passion for research and exploration. Our elementary program is designed to encourage children to wonder, work, explore, and develop their interests with guidance from trained Montessori teachers.
